This blog describes my fight against acne using nutrition. I have had acne since I was about 16. I recently received some information from my friend's guru nutritionist. He told me that I will need to eat right. This means NO sugar, gluten, alcohol or caffeine. I will need to reset my immunsystem by drinking lots of water, eating more vegetables, EFAs, caproyl, and probiotics.

Body Measurements and Pictures
Here is kind of the starting point. I have recorded my height, weight, measurements, and have taken pictures. I feel pretty good right now considering that I have been working on this whole summer.

I'm doing some anthropometric measurements for you. By the wrist circumference method (height/wrist circumference) your r value is 10.57. for men an r value greater than 10.4 is "small framed." Which I find to be strange because you seem pretty medium framed to me.
ReplyDeleteAccording to the Hamwi method of finding desirable weight a "medium framed" person your height has the desirable weight of 184 and a person who is "small framed" has the desirable weight of 165.6. You are sitting right in between the two which I think is where you should be.
Your BMI is 22.7, which is in the healthy range of 18.5 to 25
These measurements are quick and easy. I'd say they are more so general guidelines as to what is a healthy size for a person in my opinion. The reason for showing you these numbers is that I think a dietitian would look at you and say you are completely healthy without looking into more than just these general guidelines. But I think you are going to see that when it comes to nutrition there is often more than meets the eye. By doing this you will be evidence of that and the fact that nutrition is more effective on a person to person basis vs. general guidelines (i.e. mypyramid).
